ALVA*'s line of Amorfa vases explores the plasticity and versatility of soapstone. It consists of vases that harmoniously combine different proportions of masses and cavities. As each Amorfa vase is a variation of the other, they seem to interact with each other by changing shape.

• Soapstone is a naturally porous stone that should not be used with water or any other liquid. The color of soapstone can vary from soft beige to bright blue and silver-gray.

*Alva is a design studio for furniture and objects, formed by artist Susana Bastos and Marcelo Alvarenga, an architect. Their projects are the result of the meeting of these two visions. They transcend the rational and the functional and are constantly looking for new features and materials.
