PIET BOON Volumes Vase S
For the new collection of five vases, Studio Piet Boon played with the different thicknesses and heights they consistently saw in commercial vases. By experimenting with these, volumes of varying heights emerged at the top. These volumes fulfill an important function: they keep the flowers or plants in place. For the earthy color palette of VASE, Boon drew inspiration from paintings by Italian artist Giorgio Morandi. "Just like with the BASE tableware, the intention is to mix and match different sizes and colors," says Boon.
The pots are intended as decorative pots and do not have a drainage hole at the bottom. Therefore, we recommend not planting directly into the pot, but placing the plant in a plastic pot + saucer or using a plastic liner. If the plant is planted directly into the pot, cracks may occur.
